Latest APR numbers out..
The most recent NCAA Academic Progress Rates are out, which now include the 2010-11 seasons. The rankings take into account the eligibility of athletes and the retention of scholarship athletes. Teams scoring below certain levels can face punishments.
No USD teams are in trouble. The scores below take into account what has been going on based on a four-year window (though do not include the most recent school year).
The most recent four-year NCAA average is 973. The average for football NCAA-wide, a trouble spot at some institutions, is 948. At USD, where athletic director David Sayler alluded to issues in the program when casting aside former coach Ed Meierkort, the numbers do not reflect any problems. The Meierkort Regime scored a 963, comfortably above the national average.
Coyote men’s basketball, another trouble spot at some schools, scored 24 points above the national average.
